Turnpike students participated in the District/Dushore Borough Source Water protection and poster contest kick-off program.

District Staff recently presented a program to home school students on macroinvertebrates and water quality.

The Overall Winning Poster in the 2009 event was submitted by Hayden Baumunk. A 4th Grade student at Turnpike Elementary School. The poster will be entered in the state competion in June.


District Technician, Randy Reibson and USDA-NRCS Technician, Kevin Rohe distributed orders as part of the Conservation District's annual seedling sale.


District staff prepare trees for the annual elementary school seedling distribution to celebrate Arbor Day.


Randy Reibson, District Technician, provided programs on soil erosion as part of the 2009 5th Grade Environmental Day.


The District's Watershed Specialist, Corey Richmond, presented programs to fifth graders on watershed awareness as part of the 2009 Environmental Day.


Work was recently completed at Hembury Farms, LLC through Chesapeake Bay Program to stabilize the manure loading area and outlet roof run off and spring water.


District picnic participants took part in a tour of the last coal mine reclamation site. The tour was led by Director, Bruno Najaka.


Project was recently completed at Francis Moll Farm funded through the Chesapeake Bay Program. A diversion was rebuilt and fenced. Reenforced gravel walkways will be completed later this summer.


Randy Reibson gave presentations to the Summer Reading Program participants on Ground Water Pollution. Randy also provided a second program on Aquatic Invertibrates.


Corey Richmond and Randy Reibson provided a session on Macro Invertebrates and Water Quality as part of the 2010 Woodland Resources Adventure Camp.
